Purdy High School’s 2013-2014 school year will be one of exciting and progressive changes—changes that will help Purdy High School continue providing the best education to the best students in Southwest Missouri.

One progressive change is the addition of Mindi Gates to the Purdy District, who will be working as an instructional coach with teachers to improve instructional delivery systems throughout the district.  Improving the way teachers instruct their classes should (and will) correlate to improved student learning—making the best students in Southwest Missouri even better.

Online curriculum resources provided by Edgenuity (formerly Education 20/20) also will provide students and teachers rich curriculum and credit recovery opportunities.

Another progressive change is our new policy that deals with cell phones and personal device usage. Students may now use their cell phones and personal devices like iPads, Kindles, and netbooks (with teacher permission) in the classroom to access resources and information to supplement their instruction. If students follow the appropriate use policy, they may also use their cell phones between classes and at lunch for non-educational purposes.

It is going to be a busy and productive year. Teachers will continue to update our curriculum throughout the year to align with Common Core State Standards in their on-going effort to provide Purdy High School students with an enriched and rigorous learning environment that will prepare them for whatever careers they may choose after graduation.

Progress and meaningful change—these traits will continue to make Purdy High School one of the best schools in Missouri.
